Henry has managed on-site audio for broadcast television, live events, theatre & streaming. His core responsibilities included designing sound systems, operating mixing consoles, managing equipment setups & troubleshooting audio issues in real-time. Ensuring clear balanced & high quality sound delivery for both the audience, performers & talent.

Additional responsibilities he has performed include:

Pre-Production Planning & System Design
  •  System Design & Specs: Reviewing show requirements, selecting the appropriate gear & tuning the sound system to the venue's acoustics.
  •  Schedule Coordination: Working alongside technical directors to ensure ample time for load-in rigging & sound checks.
  •  Team Management: Leading the audio crew by coordinating tasks with assistant audio engineers & stagehands.
  •  Acoustic Venue Analysis: Evaluating the room's shape, architectural materials, & natural reflections to “tune the room.”
  •  System Architecture: Interpreting technical needs to create signal flow plans, input/output (I/O) lists & microphone placement maps.
  •  Microphone Management: Fitting presenters or performers with lavaliere & headset microphones, hiding cables cleanly, and swapping out dead batteries.
  •  RF Coordination: Managing wireless microphone frequencies & antenna distribution to ensure signals do not drop out or interfere with other devices.
  •  Logistics Coordination: Working with the Technical Director or Production Manager to ensure the schedule provides adequate time for equipment load-in, rigging & calibration.

Live Event Execution, Production & Show Operations
  •  Mixing: Operating the main mixing console to blend microphones, music, & effects into a seamless, balanced mix.
  •  Real-Time Troubleshooting: Immediately diagnosing & fixing audio dropouts, equipment failures, or feedback during the live show.
  •  Department Coordination: Communicating clearly with stage managers, lighting crews, video operators, artists, and speakers.
  •  Front of House (FOH): Operating the primary digital or analog audio console to blend live microphones, instruments, background music & video playback feeds.
  •  Crew Leadership: Delegating tasks to technicians, monitor engineers & audio assistants.
  •  Cue Execution & Playback: Tracks the show rundown in real-time, triggering instant sound replays and automated presets on audio cues from the stage manager.
  •  Real-time Troubleshooting: Monitoring audio signals constantly to instantly diagnose and correct feedback, interference, or component failures.

Post-Production Operations & Maintenance
  •  System Strike & Loud-Out Management: Overseeing the safe teardown, organization & load-out of all audio gear.
  •  Equipment Maintenance: Evaluating broken components post-show, stripping down and repairing damaged hardware for future deployment.
  •  Production Debrief: Meeting with technical directors and production staff to review the execution & resolve any long-term system changes.
  •  Gear Maintenance: Cleaning, repairing, and testing equipment in the shop between events.
  •  System Upgrades: Redesigning and improving existing sound systems based on event feedback.
